Yachtport SA have no visitors facilities as they are not a yacht club. They have walk-on pontoons for mooring purposes. Their 2 primary functions are: State of the art hauling out facility and as the designated point of entry / departure to and from South Africa. Customs and Immigration clears yachts in and out of SA at the Yachtport SA facility

If any yachts want to come to SBYC, they should contact me, Eddie, at 073 673 6624 or, alternatively, Bevely Bews (Club Secretary) at 083 603 4894. Always check in with port control on channel 12. Foreign yachts need to check in with customs first; Jean-Marie (082 329 3108) from Yacht Port can help with that. When coming to SBYC, please send an email with clearance documents and a passage plan to manager@sbyc.co.za).
Saldanha is a great small community, always friendly and accommodating. Contact Gerswell for any transport requirements around our area at 079 387 9888. We have Saldanha Bay Hotel (022 714 1264), which has one of the best restaurants locally with breathtaking views and great food at a good price. Saldanha Bay Museum (022 714 4662) is a nice way to get some historical information about Saldanha and the founding families.
West Coast Fossil Park (022 714 1606) is always a good educational stop to see what critters walked on the west coast in the Jurassic period. Thali Thali Game Lodge (082 372 8637) is a great place to see some of Africa’s wildlife with beautiful game drives and archery lessons. Darling Smokehouse (081 723 7236) is where they smoke some of their meats for up to 12 hours, with great beers on tap and beautiful farm views. You can also visit Darling Cellars (083 226 8769) for some great local wine tasting.
There are lots more to see around our area, so please give me a call for more information at 073 673 6624. We have a cradle available at the club that can haul out yachts up to 12 tons and around 38 ft (note that bookings for the cradle need to be made well in advance and via email at manager@sbyc.co.za).
Yachtport SA, located in the Small Craft Harbour, Langebaan lagoon, is a purpose designed luxury marina with Marine lift and repair facility, as well as a company with a full service offering for yachts 30-100ft in length typically , haul-out facilities and a multi-vessel hardstand, plus a drive-in workshop for intensive repair, refit and paining works.

The marine lift facility operates the largest travel lift crane in South Africa, capable of handling catamarans and monohulls of up to 30m length overall, +10m beam width and up to 100-ton displacement. General Manager Edward Blackbeard edward@yachtportssa.co.za

The jurisdiction area of the National Ports Authority extends from Long Point, located north of North Head, stretching 3 nautical miles seaward on a bearing of 244°, to Vondeling Point, situated south of South Head, also extending 3 nautical miles seaward on a bearing of 231°.

Saldanha Bay is located on the west coast of South Africa about 60 nautical miles north of Cape Town, the largest natural harbour in South Africa with deep water access, good protection from swell, and safe protection from all wind directions.
