It is important to advise of imminent arrival at least >12hours beforehand, to identify suitable mooring(s)
Should there be no moorings available, the visiting yachts will be guided onto/raft against commercial fishing boats and/or wharfs

INBOUND PROCEDURES
Authorities will be advised of the arrival of all yachts and the procedures outlines will remain in force until advised otherwise.
The crew and Skipper will NOT be permitted to leave the yacht until the Port Health and SA Police have cleared the yacht.
Once cleared by Port Health, proceed to Immigration with passports all crew & yacht papers
Immigration: office closes at 15.30. Tel +27 41 404 8300, office behind Marine & boating Clubs.
Customs: 3 Chapel Street, Gqeberha​​. Please complete the online SARS documentation for each person on board, as per OSASA link, refer to SA regulations on OSASA Web Page
A scanned pdf of a completed DA1 for incoming boats must also be submitted to PEZPortEnquiries@sars.gov.za, as per OSASA link, refer to SA regulations on OSASA Web Page
DEPARTURE FROM SOUTH AFRICA
​If departing South Africa from Port Elizabeth for another country, yachts must also clear out of Immigration, and submit online a completed pdf of the outward Customs declaration DA3

All yachts leaving the port must first call “Port Elizabeth Port Control” on VHF Ch 12 – whilst still in mooring, and request permission to exit the Port.
Call Port Elizabeth Port Control on VHF ch 12 once yacht is within 5nm of Port entrance – advise inbound. Call again when 1-2nm of Port entrance = request permission to enter. Yachts are to keep clear of shipping movements at all times on approaching the Port
This is a 50ton Travel-lift operated by the PE Port Authorities. This is available for yachties with big boats.
