ENTRY/EXIT PROCEDURE 

If you are planning to depart from South Africa from Mossel Bay, present all documentation to Immigration and Customs authorities to fulfil Departure procedures.
Mossel Bay is a Port of Entry for both foreign yachts or South African yachts returning from international waters. However, there may not be official staff on duty all the time, so please submit your information timeously.
The Port of Mossel Bay is operated by the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) and Mossel Bay Port Control controls all shipping and yacht movements in and out of the port.

On approaching the main breakwater, call Port Control on VHF 12 for permission to enter, then proceed to the allocated berth to await Port Health clearance. There is at present no yacht club or marina in Mossel Bay, but berths are available inside the port as per service requests and availability. If these berths are occupied there is an anchorage just outside the harbour. Please fly a yellow Q flag and do not leave your boat until cleared
INBOUND IMMIGRATION:
Once cleared, present your documents to the Immigration officer (PSO) for visas to be issued.

INBOUND CUSTOMS:
Customs clearance is done online by completing the SARS documentation at https://www.sars.gov.za/travellerdeclaration either a few days before arrival or immediately on arrival in the port. A scanned pdf of a completed DA1 form must also be submitted to Jpiedt@sars.gov.za and CTNPortEnquiries@sars.gov.za. Contact CTNPortBookings@sars.gov.za to make an appointment for Mossel Bay Customs. Please put name of vessel in the subject of the email to Customs.
 
OUTBOUND DEPARTURE
All yachts must call Port Control on VHF channel 12 to request permission to depart their allocated berths.
If you are planning to now continue to coastal sail, it is not necessary to visit Immigration and Customs. However, please ensure all dues have been paid, and submit an online passage plan before departure, to https://passageplan.co.za
