Visa Requirements
Have you checked your visa status for South Africa? Please check here – it is very important to ensure you have this correct before arriving in South Africa!
Arrival Procedures
Please advise by email or What’sApp 3-4 days before arrival in South Africa info@osasa.org.za or What’sApp +27 72 106 3936 to confirm your arrival date.
3 days before your arrival, OSASA will submit your information to the relevant Port Health for a Health Pratique.
You need to submit an online Customs Declaration (SARS Traveller Declaration) preferably before your arrival or else immediately on arrival.
Once you have been cleared by Port Health, you and each crew member need to present your passport to Immigration for a visa. Do not leave the boat until cleared by Port Health.
Berthing Arrangements
Please note, OSASA does NOT make berthing arrangements with any marinas or yacht clubs. It is the responsibility of the owner/skipper to arrange this directly with the relevant marina or club, so please visit the relevant port information on the OSASA website under South African Ports for contact details.
Coastal Sailing
You are now able to sail along the South African coast without further need to call in either Immigration or Customs until your departure from the country. However, please note that most clubs/marinas will require a Passage Plan for the next port to be completed before departure.
Final Departure from a Port of Entry/Departure
To leave South Africa, please complete departure procedures from the yacht club/marina, then present this with passports to Immigration for exit stamps. Ensure you have also completed the online Customs declarations including the DA1/DA3 forms and submitted these.
